Here are some tips and resources to help you navigate the upcoming holidays:
- Offer to host if someone in your family has a food allergy so you know all foods served are allergy friendly.
- Prepare the plate for your food allergy loved one first to prevent cross-contact.
- If going to someone else’s home for a meal, bring a portion that all can enjoy of an allergy friendly food to emphasize inclusion.
- Plan some activities that don’t involve food like a bunny hop or chicken dance or pin the fluff on the bunny with cotton balls and tape.
- If having an egg hunt, stuff the eggs with non-food treats, and that way you know you’re being food allergy safe.
- If dyeing eggs, look for ceramic dyable eggs as an option. (EggNots)
- Always remember to carry your epinephrine autoinjector.
