Biography

Dr. Lapuente received his undergraduate degree from University of Memphis where he also played college soccer. He attended medical school at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. He completed his internship and residency at Wake Forest University School of Medicine, Brenner Children’s Hospital in Winston-Salem, NC. He then finished a fellowship at University of Missouri, Kansas City, The Children’s Mercy Hospital, where his area of research focused on exhaled nitric oxide.

Prior to working at Carolina Asthma and Allergy Center (CAAC), Dr. Lapuente was in private practice in upstate New York. He moved south in 2005 and joined CAAC. For fun, Dr. Lapuente enjoys listening to his son perform music, playing soccer with his daughter, and watching international soccer matches.
