Biography

Courtney H Powell, FNP-C was born and raised in the Charlotte area. She earned her Associates Degree in Nursing from Cabarrus College of Health Science in Concord, NC in 2010.

She immediately began working as a Critical Care Nurse at Novant Health Presbyterian in the Medical Intensive Care Unit. While working, she went on to receive her Bachelors degree in Nursing from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte in Charlotte, NC, in 2012.

During her many years as a critical care nurse, she served as one of the lead preceptors to new hire nurses. She also took on many extra roles such as rapid response nurse and charge nurse.

She subsequently obtained her Masters Degree in Nursing with a concentration in Family Nurse Practitioner at South University in 2018. She graduated Summa Cum Laude, which is the highest of academic honors. She became board certified and is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

Most recently, she has worked with Novant Health Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine as a Nurse Practitioner for over 6 years where she independently managed patients with acute and chronic pulmonary disease, before transitioning to Carolina Asthma and Allergy.

As an experienced provider, Courtney feels it is most important that her patients feel comfortable and well respected, while simultaneously providing excellent care. She is looking forward to meeting new patients and building relationships with them.

In her free time, Courtney prioritizes quality time with her husband and their three young children. She spends most of her time on the soccer field or basketball court supporting her children.  When not at a sporting event, she is likely traveling with her family, at church, or diving into a good book! She can’t wait to meet you!
