Biography

Abigail Allen, FNP-C, is a North Carolina native who grew up in the mountains of western NC. She earned her undergraduate degree from Appalachian State University and attended The University of Alabama at Birmingham for graduate school.

Abby wanted to be a nurse for as long as she can remember. In second grade, she borrowed her cousin’s scrubs and wore them to school on career day. She spent her bedside nursing career in the Neurosurgical Intensive Care Unit where she developed an even deeper fascination with how the human body works.

In early 2024, Abby joined Carolina Asthma & Allergy Center as a nurse practitioner. She enjoys educating patients about their diagnosis and how their medications work in their bodies. She looks forward to building long-term relationships with her patients and is excited to see them improve over the years.

When she is not at work, Abby enjoys spending time with her husband, two dogs, friends, and family. On weekends you can find her at the lake, cheering on the Mountaineers, or feeding the cows and horses at her in-laws’ farm. She loves to travel and is always planning her next big trip. She can’t wait to meet you!
