Chad W. Ellis, PA-C was born and raised in Charleston, WV. He attended undergraduate college at Marshall University in Huntington, WV where he earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Management Information Systems with a minor in Chemistry in 2002. Chad went on to work in the Information Technology industry for 10+ years. The majority of those years were spent in Charlotte, NC, which he proudly calls his second home.
Although he had a successful career in the field of Information Technology, he always had an interest in medicine. Having allergies and asthma himself, his interest was specifically focused on the field of Asthma, Allergy, and Immunology. At the age of 34 he began his journey into medicine, first working as a Certified Nursing Assistant in a hospital Intensive Care Unit and as Phlebotomist in a laboratory. While preparing academically for medical school, he also became a certified Healthcare Technology Specialist in Practice Workflow & Information Management Redesign. He went on to earn his Master’s of Physician Assistant Studies at Wingate University in Wingate, NC in 2018, and subsequently become a Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) Advanced Care Provider (ACP).
Chad joined Carolina Asthma and Allergy Center in February of 2019 after completing a preceptorship with the company. His goal is to improve the quality of life for all of his patients so that they are able to enjoy the lives that they deserve and desire. He believes in maximizing the care of patients with asthma, allergies, and immunological conditions by focusing on these problems as a sub-specialty.
Chad is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the North Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants, and the Metrolina Association of Physician Assistants. In his free time, Chad enjoys being with his family, kayaking, mountain biking, hiking, skydiving, and traveling the world.
