The Carolina Asthma and Allergy Center, P.A. (CAAC) is a synergetic regional care center anchored by 13 allergists, board-certified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology and an Physician’s Assistant, who have joined together to provide specific and consistent care and treatment for those individuals who suffer with allergies, asthma and related diseases.
CAAC consults over 10,000 new patients and provides ongoing care to more than 22,000 existing patients annually. These patients came to us from over 50 counties in North Carolina and from over 10 counties in South Carolina. In order to be more accessible to our patients and provide the individual attention and care they expect and deserve, CAAC has placed 8 offices in communities surrounding Charlotte, North Carolina. In Charlotte we provide for patients at our largest and most established office on Main-7th Street, and with offices in the South Charlotte (Ballantyne) and University areas. Other North Carolina offices are present in Concord, Gastonia, Monroe, Shelby and Mooresville. In South Carolina we have an office in Rock Hill.

CAAC is currently conducting research studies. To date we have completed over 58 research studies. The education and training of the next generation of physicians is taken seriously by our CAAC physicians. In Charlotte our physicians serve as associate and assistant instructors in conjunction with the Carolinas Medical Center and the University of North Carolina Medical School, Chapel Hill, North Carolina to train future pediatricians in the proper diagnosis and treatment of allergies and asthma. They also serve in the same capacity for the Carolinas Medical Center Family Practice Residency Training Program in Concord. Finally, CAAC is diligent in working to keep our charges for services as low as possible by constantly reviewing and fine tuning both medical and financial administrative procedures. In 1988 we devised and developed, with the help of a local software company, an automated injection and vaccine order tracking system which has been adapted and implemented by several other software providers across the country. CAAC also serves as a resource for administrative and procedural questions to other board-certified allergy practices nationwide, receiving several on-site visits and many telephone conferences each year.
